How to Install Siri Port on Iphone 4, Iphone 3gs, and Ipod Touch
Over the past couple of months, numerous jailbreak tweaks have come to light from various hackers allowing those with non-iPhone 4s to utilize Siri. If you have missed the commercials or been hiding under a rock, Siri is Apple’s new virtual assistant that understands voice commands. It is really pretty cool if used on a regular basis. Up until now, all attempts to port Siri over to other iPhones or iPods has either been illegal or you need to use a separate proxy to get Siri to activate. Basically, by using a Siri port on a non iPhone 4s, Siri looks for a valid certificate to connect and utilize its functionality. If Siri does not see a valid iPhone 4s, it will not connect. Because of this, other Siri port hacks such as Spire have popped up, but require a proxy server to connect. Again, this means either you have your own iPhone 4s and you can connect your other devices to it or you buy into one of the numerous iPhone 4s Siri proxy servers set-up specifically for Spire.
Luckily, there is now a way to avoid all of that messing around. This how to for installing Siriport is fairly straight forward and do not read too much into it if your iPhone or iPod does not work. Many people have been complaining that it does not work for them. We do not know why yet, but as soon as there is an update or someone figures out why this Siri port is not working, we will update this how to.
Step 1.) Jailbreak your iPhone or iPod to get the latest iOS 5.0.1 installed. If you are unfamiliar with Jailbreaking, go over to iClarified, find your specific device, and read through the tutorial SLOWLY.
Step 2.) Now that your device is jailbroken, lets turn off the lock screen because Siriport may take awhile to download and we don’t want it to hang. Go to Settings=>General=>Auto-Lock and switch to “Never”. You can switch it back once the Siri port is finished.
Step 3.) Launch Cydia (the app that installed when you jailbroke your phone). Now, in the bottom right, tap on “Manage”. Then we need tap on “Sources” in the middle of the screen…Next, tap on “Edit” in the top right, and Finally tap on “Add” on the top left. A little menu should pop up reading “Enter Cydia/APT URL” The full line should read “http://repo.siriport.ru“. Lastly, tap “Add Source”. This allow your phone to connect to the proper servers to download the necessary files for Siriport.
Step 4.) Still within Cydia, tap on the “Search” icon in the bottom right hand corner and type in “siriport“. Cydia should find it right away, tap on it, and then install it. This step could take anywhere from 5-30 minutes depending on your internet connection speed as well as how many other people are downloading Siriport at the same time. Just let it sit and run. The Siriport install may look like its frozen, but its not…just let it do its thing. After Siri Port finishes installing, it will automatically reboot.
Step 5.) Your device should have rebooted and now be back on the home screen. Next, tap on Safari and enter the web address: siriport.ru/1.crt Your iPhone or iPod will automatically redirect to another screen that reads “Install Profile”. It will say “Not Trusted” but go ahead and click “Install” next to the red lettering. This is the certificate to allow Siri to work on non iPhone 4s devices. Don’t freak out it Safari can’t load the page, the server has been overloaded the past couple of days so it may not download right away. Try back in a few minutes or maybe hours when things calm down a bit.
Step 6.) After the Siri port profile finishes installing, reboot you device.
Step 7.) After your device turns back on, go to Settings=> General=>Siri and make sure Siri is turned on.
Step 8.) Hold down you home button to bring up Siri and say the words “Hi Siri” out loud to your iPhone or iPod. Saying things like “What’s the weather like?” will also work. Siri most likely will not work on the first try and may take many, many tries to get it to work. Just keep repeating this step until Siri works. Be patient, but if it doesn’t work after a couple hours, the Siri port is probably not going to work for your device. Sorry. Hopefully, there will be an update of fix out soon.
Update:: The guys over at Siriport have release an updated 1.3.1 version of Siriport. It is supposed to fix some bugs and also make connecting a bit easier. If you already have version 1.3.0 installed, you can go back over to Cydia and update it there. Very quick and easy. This fix should work on almost all devices.
The apps crashing bug is still around. I was able to make it happen on my iPhone 4. Not too sure of a work around. Maybe try plugging back into iTunes and resyncing (this did not work for me). Again, it looks like we will be waiting on another update to fix this.
Lastly, if you are having trouble downloading or getting timed out, check the server status for siriport here
If this worked for you, don’t be shy. Go over to Siriport.ru and donate. If you can’t read Russian, just type it into google and hit translate. I’m sure this guy (and the rest of us) would love for him to keep the server up and running.

I totally agree with the idea that If Siri does not see a valid iPhone 4s, it will not connect. Siri is typical, as it give s you some trouble connecting initially. I Phone 4s is valid as long as it is valid, means, its validity depends on how you use it.

Make sure if you have a failed install, you go back and uninstall. Cydia will ask you to “forcibly clear” hit yes, reboot, and then try installing again.

A lot of people are having trouble because the server goes down or is overloaded. Keep trying and hopefully it will work. Make sure you have location services turned off as well.

I have been trying this for the past few days, to no avail also. Didn’t know about trying to turn off Location services. Just curious why that would matter…

I think there is some sort of bug…if I kept location services on many of my apps would not open.
