How To:: Find out the Baseband and Firmware Version of my iPhone
It is fairly easy now days to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone. However, there are some limitations, mainly your baseband. If you plan on jailbreaking and/or unlocking your iPhone, you are going to need to check your baseband and firmware version. Here’s how (very easy):
Step (1): On your Home Screen, find the “Settings” Icon and tap to open. The one that looks like gears sometimes in the “Utilities” group.
Step (2): Scroll Down to the “General” Icon and tap to open. Again, looks like gears. Right below “Wallpaper”
Step (3): Tap the “About” button on the very top of the screen.
Step (4): Scroll down and towards the bottom you will see “Version” This is the Firmware Version you are running…Most people only use the numbers IE 4.3.1
Step (5): Scroll down a bit further and you will find “Modem Version” This is the Baseband of your phone.
